You may raise your bow and have to hold it for a minute or two. When bowhunting, it’s common to have a quarry come into range but not yet be positioned correctly for a good shot. The weight of a bow-mounted quiver is a major concern.įirst of all, too much weight will make it difficult to hold the bow steady for long periods of time. Especially if you’re left-handed, it’s wise to check for this feature beforehand or buy a specifically left-handed quiver. Nowadays, the majority of bow-mounted quivers are actually adjustable to work for both hands. It will all depend on whether you have a left or right handed bow. That’s because the quiver will mount on one side of the bow or the other, and you won’t be able to hold the bow on the side where the quiver is attached. If you’re looking for a bow-mounted quiver, you have to take your handedness into consideration. A lot of target shooters go for hip or back quivers that can hold 10 or even 20 arrows. At the range, having more arrow capacity is convenient because it saves you trips to the target to retrieve your arrows. Of course, if you aren’t hunting, your arrow capacity needs may be different. Or maybe you’re hunting with friends or family and are carrying the arrows for everyone. For example, maybe you’re going on a week-long hunting trip on horseback through the South Dakota Badlands. Plus, there are a couple situations when you’d want more hunting arrows. Still, many hunters like to have a few extra for those blue moons when everything I just said is wrong. You might only need a second arrow if your first wounds the animal and you prefer to use a second to deal that ethical, lethal blow. Your quarry isn’t going to wait around for you to nock another arrow, and the commotion is going to scare off other animals for the rest of the day at least. If you miss your first shot, your hunt is basically over. Frankly, you don’t need anything more than this for most hunting applications. When it comes to bow-mounted quivers, your capacity options basically range from three to six. RELATED: Samick Sage Takedown Recurve Bow Review Arrow Capacity People used to hunt with back quivers all the time. They’re a lot of fun and hold a lot of ammunition so you don’t have to keep walking to and from the target.ĭespite all this, though, the most important thing you should consider is your personal taste and the type of bow you will be shooting. Specifically, they make good off-season quivers when you’re practicing for the hunting season.įinally, as you might guess, back quivers tend to be for archery enthusiasts, role players, etc. On the other hand, hip quivers are convenient options for shooting at archery targets on the range because you can take them on and off so easily and store other items you need. Two, since they attach to the bow, they’re easier to transport out into the woods. One, they’re stable with nothing rattling around and making noise. These days bow-mounted quivers are by far the most popular type used for bow hunting for two reasons. Things To Consider When Choosing A Quiver Quiver TypeĬertain quiver types are better suited to certain archery activities. Some even make their own quivers and use native wood to make their own bows. When compared to the other two, back quivers can hold a lot of arrows.īack quivers are primarily used by traditional archers that choose recurve bows. To nock an arrow, you just reach behind your head and pull one out. They loop around one shoulder and under the other arm, allowing the quiver to hang off your back. RELATED: Bear Grizzly Recurve Review Hip Quiversīack quivers are the classical Robin-Hood-style models. If you choose a bow mounted quiver, be sure to tune your bow with the quiver attached, because it may shoot differently without the quiver. Most bow mounted quivers are for the compound bow vs recurve, but there are a few for recurves as well. There is nothing between the grips and the hood except for the shaft or shafts that connect them and the mounting mechanism. On the other end, some kind of hood protects the arrowheads, usually with soft foam or fabric on the inside. On one end, grips wrap around the arrow shaft and hold it steady. Most bow-mounted quivers have the same fundamental design. The problem with these is that they change the weight distribution of the bow more dramatically, but you can actually take advantage of this and use the quiver as a stabilizer. However, you will sometimes see those that are oriented perpendicular. The vast majority of bow-mounted quivers attach parallel to the bow itself, with the arrows running in the same direction as the bowstring. Most bow mounted quivers attach directly to the riser, but some are made to attach to your bow sight. Manufacturers use a wide variety of methods to facilitate this attachment, from fixed bolts to camlocks to slides. Bow-mounted quivers are those that you can attach directly to your bow. It’s flexible and able to keep your chickens in, but it’s not strong enough to deter most predators. Chain link fences work well as an exterior border as long as your chickens have somewhere safe to retreat to away from the fence.Ĭhicken coop netting, also known as poultry netting, is like a plastic version of chicken wire. You’ll have to watch out for reaching raccoon hands as well. However, the holes in the fence are large enough for smaller predators to easily crawl through. Chain link fences are strong enough to keep out even your toughest predators. This popular fencing is easy to find at any local hardware store. For extra protection, you can also bury hardware cloth a few inches beneath the ground to deter burrowing creatures. Hardware cloth comes in different sizes, so you’ll have to choose a size that can keep out snakes, rats, and other small predators. Hardware cloth is a strong, welded wire fence that can stand up against larger predators like coyotes and foxes. You can also use chicken wire within the coop to isolate aggressive birds or keep older chickens away from pullets. Chicken wire is great for protecting higher-up portions of the coop that predators can’t get to. It effectively keeps chickens in, but it might not successfully deter raccoons, rats, or other small creatures. This thin, woven wire is an affordable option for your coop. Many people turn to chicken wire when building their coops-after all, “chicken” is right there in the name. There are several types of fencing or netting you can use to secure your coop, but which one is right for you? Weigh the pros and cons of each of the best types of chicken coop fencing with this guide. The right fencing keeps out predators and ensures your chickens can eat, sleep, and explore their run in peace. Security is one of the most important parts of a chicken coop. So Xehanort is pretty much a trickster in this AU, he searched for a new Guardian, and unfortunately he found one.Īttention: Kingdom Hearts and it’s characters do not belong to me, the only thing I own is this Artwork and this AU. (in one body so too speak) Instead of splitting himself, Xehanort can take on many different appearances to lure in his victims/persons of interest. You see, all the versions we see in Kingdom Hearts of Xehanort are in this AU basically one and the same. Now there’s where Xehanort makes his entrance, because in this AU Xehanort became a kind of Eldritch beeing. Normally the darkness would have continued its deep slumber inside of Terras Heart, but after meeting a mysterious white haired man, the darkness started to spread deeper and faster into Terras Heart, so fast in fact that Terra did not realize what was happening until it was too late. In this artwork however it’s a little bit different, as the darkness was always a part of Terra, he did only show one symptom, and that was having one yellow eye. Those who hit the point of no return slowly lost their heart and transformed into some kind of Heartless (I’m still working on the nobody’s). Having all of these symptoms combined was a sign of slowly hitting the point of no return. (Inspired by Final Fantasy 16) And as I mentioned before, I headcanon that the darkness is some kind of curse in this AU and all Keyblade users who are infected by said curse have usually different kind of symptoms, the usual symptom is one eye beeing yellow and the other one beeing normal, the other most common symptom is once hair slowly turning white. Here’s another entry for my „work in progress“ Kingdom Hearts AU called Keyblade Knights.Īs previously mentioned, Keyblade Knights is basically the same as Kingdom hearts, the difference is that all of the Keyblade users are actual Knights. A thermal Carafe is better in my opinion as it is long-lasting and can keep coffee hot for 2 hours without the need for a heating plate. Unlike Keurig Duo with a glass carafe and heating plate, Duo Plus has 12 cup stainless steel insulated thermal Carafe. It is undeniably the convenient design of the water reservoir of Keurig Duo Plus that earns it its unique selling point. You can easily adjust the position of the water reservoir either on the back or left and right-hand side of the brewer depending on the available space.Īdditionally, it has a convenient handle that makes it easy to attach and detach from the brewer, as well as easy to clean. The water reservoir is completely made of see-through plastic and it got marks on it for 12, 10, 8, and 6 cups of coffee. The best thing about this coffee maker is the convenient design of the water reservoir. You should also need to descale your machine once in 3-6 months. Clean the exterior portion of the brewer with a light, wet cloth from time to time to maintain the look of the machine. Also, clean the removable parts like the drip tray and the water reservoir every week.Īll the parts are very easy to disassemble but remember you have to clean them manually as they are not dishwasher safe. The filter basket, gold-tone mesh filter, carafe, and carafe lid should be cleaned after every use with warm, soapy water. In spite of the fact that the machine has two functionalities of single serve and carafe, it is still quite simple to operate.Ĭleaning not only enhances the smooth functioning of the machine but also increases the lifespan of the machine. I am impressed with the simplicity of the interface of this machine. On the left side, there is an auto button and an hour and minute button to program the machine. Just insert the coffee pod, select the size, and hit the large K button as simple as it is. Once you choose one option the 6, 8, 10, and 12 size button starts blinking. When you turn on the machine carafe and pod button starts blinking. Keurig Duo Plus has a simple power button to turn the machine Off or On. The display screen allows you to access everything just at the push of a button. Keurig duo plus is one of the most user-friendly coffee machines available in the market today. Overall, I am quite satisfied with the temperature and taste of the drink this machine prepares. You will probably not like this machine if you enjoy iced coffee or small espresso-style shots of coffee. Regarding the taste of the drink, this machine lacks two very important features usually found in Keurig machines in this price range: a 4oz serving size option and an over-iced setting. It increases the brewing time, which increases the extraction of flavors from the coffee grounds, creating a rich, strong cup of coffee This function is usually present in high-end Keurig models and not in low-end models. The good thing is strong brew option is present in this Keurig model. And that is quite impressive.Īs far as taste is concerned, there is not too much noticeable difference between Keurig k-duo plus and other Keurig coffee machines. I have tested the temperature of brew both in the Carafe and single-serve modes multiple times and it typically falls in the range of 172 to 177 degrees. One will test treatments for sleep problems. Two additional studies will open in the coming months.
